Coach Tyler has been involved in track and field since the age of 10. Growing up in Iowa, I was actively involved the the USATF program from age 10 through my high school years. Competing in the decathlon, I qualified and competed in the national meet during my final three years of being involved with USATF. During my youth, I also competed in football, basketball and baseball in addition to track and field.
I went to college at the University of Northern Iowa where I competed as a Division I athlete in the Decathlon. After graduating college, I went on the be the sprints, jumps, and hurdles coach at Cedar Falls High School in Cedar Falls, Iowa for 4 years before taking some time away from the sport to start a family. While coaching, I was fortunate to coach several state champions and Drake Relays winners. After moving to Arizona in 2018, I wanted my kids to experience the joy of track and field and joined the Huron Athletics team in 2019. It is a joy to be back in the coaching world helping young athletes gain life experiences and performing personal bests in the sport that helped me throughout the years. My wife Amy, and my children Mason, Madden, and Mila are active within the club and currently reside in Queen Creek, AZ. |
