Coach Eric does not come from a track and field background. Eric raced bicycles at a high level from his
teens into his 30’s. During his time competing, he won national level events in 3 distinctly different disciplines of racing (BMX, downhill mountain bike, and dual slalom mountain bike). He got involved with track and field the way a lot of parents do, when his son Pry’nce said he wanted to try track out. After two seasons of listening and learning from his son’s coaches, Eric felt the competitive itch to get off the folding chair and help out. After getting the proper certifications, he volunteered to help out with Huron. “I was never a stick and ball sport kind of guy. Track and field really feeds my love for individual sports, it stirs the kind of passion that fueled my almost 20 years of bicycle racing. Seeing your own child excel in life is a high unlike few others, and helping young athletes achieve their own success is personally rewarding beyond description." |
